1867 Stillwater Cottage Gothic Restored to Grandeur

These artistic, empty-nester clients chose to adopt this little Stillwater gem as their next big baby. Great care was taken to determine the design details to implement into the cabinetry and millwork to restore this entire home to her early grandeur. To be contiguous with Gothic detailing on the exterior of the home, a carved Gothic arch molding was chosen to accent the stately walnut mantel surround in the living area and custom cooktop hood in the kitchen. An intricate furniture-style buffet finished in a robin's egg blue paint color provides a pop of eye-pleasing color in the primarily white, sunlight-filled kitchen.

Balsam Lake Rustic Lake Retreat

The warmth and character of glazed knotty alder along with the hand-hewn detailing and distressing on the cabinetry give this Wisconsin lake home the rustic feel of a well-used historic timber lodge of the past. Plank-style door panels were used to cover integrated appliances and provide access to a hidden walk-in pantry right in the main kitchen space. The look is carried through into the lower level where a wet bar serves to keep all thirsts quenched. Home construction by Carl M. Hansen Companies.

Lake of the Isles VIP Game Room

This highly sophisticated game room was designed and finished to enhance the quality of living in this grand Lake of the Isles residence. Quartersawn white oak material combined with an elegant acanthus leaf molding detail on the beams create the masculine look of the coffered ceiling and columns. Meticulously designed, louvered cabinet fronts function to hide all sound and mechanical components. Custom-crafted stained glass door panels and antique mirror inlays in the drawer fronts complete this stately look. The focal point of the room is a faux stone finished mantel which was designed to match the one located in the lounge of the client's favorite Minneapolis restaurant, La Belle Vie.

1897 Historic 'Home of the Sun' on Bald Eagle Lake Repurposed for Entertaining

Originally constructed by the Vice-Consul to the Norwegian-Swedish Kingdom, this home was updated to meet the wishes of its homeowners. To accommodate groups from four to 50, a large kitchen was designed with a massive Bombay-style walnut island, eight integrated appliances, and food and beverage preparation and storage at all levels. Paneled columns maintain the historic appeal and lend continuity between the old and new spaces. The home remains on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Town & Country Minnetrista Estate

Photographs just don't do this project justice. This gorgeous renovation was an eclectic mix of numerous details with a strong French influence. Perimeter cabinetry, custom passage doors, and several furniture-style pieces were hand-crafted with knotty alder and finished in a soft glaze. A unique, multi-level maple island was designed and positioned to parallel the angles of the room and the coffered ceiling beam pattern. Custom-leaded glass panels were crafted to include a Gothic arch design. The lower-level bath cabinetry design was infused with early Hollywood flair.

Art Deco Drama

2012 NARI COTY Award Winning Project

A dramatic transformation of this Minneapolis lake home's basement took it from lackluster lower-level to a lavish art-nouveau hideaway, adding tremendous value to the home. A great find of the homeowners, some antique art-deco chrome wall sconces provided the design inspiration for many of the stunning elements of the cabinetry and millwork. Detailed painted columns with Lyptus accent molding house the sconces and tie with the media area cabinetry. Book-matched plain-sawn Lyptus wood veneer, chrome banding, and painted wood embellishments to replicate the lines of the light sconces define this one-of-a-kind bar. I'll have a Guinness, please.

1923 Nokomis Arts & Crafts Foursquare

2012 NARI, ROMA, and Chrysalis Award Winning Project

This historical renovation and restoration included a period-appropriate addition to house a new modern-functioning kitchen and back entry. A characteristic "inglenook" area, a common architectural feature in homes of the Arts & Crafts era, provides a welcoming respite by the fireplace with built-in bench seats and bookcases. Quarter-sawn white oak was the wood of choice to stay true to the era of the home. The "old-looking" new cabinetry and millwork provided are a testimonial to the melding of contemporary engineering and classic craftsmanship.

Nicollet Island Historic Renovation

2008 NARI, Chrysalis, and Master Design Award Winning Project

The original charm of this 1900 classic Greek Revival was restored and enhanced into what the owner calls his “Island Cottage of Comfort.” The dated '50s kitchen was gutted entirely and replaced with period-appropriate cabinetry with a nautical flair. Custom-turned legs define the styling of the kitchen island, and grooved door panels give the entire kitchen an Early-American appeal.

Modern Bauhaus-Style Renewed

Originally built in 1951, this home was once featured on the cover of Better Homes & Gardens and also in House Beautiful. Over the years, the house had fallen into disrepair until its new owners took on the exciting challenge of restoring the home to its original modern Bauhaus-style grandeur. Original red gumwood materials were reclaimed and reused for much of the cabinetry and millwork. Rift-cut white oak in a horizontal grain pattern was the material of choice for the new, completely renovated kitchen.

Transitional Style with High Function

Eull Woodworks and the contractor’s designer were challenged on this project with the assignment of creating critical design and outstanding function in a kitchen with a very small footprint. It was also required for the kitchen to include a gourmet French range. The team scored an A+ for effort and outcome with this striking result that portrays clean, transitional simplicity and complements the remainder of the home.

French Creek Estate with Boutique Closets

These project photos cover multiple remodeling phases in this home spanning the last 10 years. Extensive incorporation of Enkeboll carved elements into the cabinetry designs won Eull Woodworks the rights for inclusion in The Enkeboll Gallery Book of Interiors of Distinction. The custom-designed boutique closets just might create the perfect setting for afternoon tea with your girlfriends.

Lake of the Isles “Empty Nester” Kitchen

This full kitchen renovation was creatively designed within the space limitations of the original footprint of the kitchen. A built-in banquette utilizes every available inch to provide an informal dining space while a table-style island provided added counterwork surface for the resident chef. Innovative thought in design incorporated the addition of a tucked-in beverage cooler and glassware storage cabinet sunk into a voided space under the stairwell.

Lowry Hill Home Gets a “Green Lift”

2008 Fall Remodelers Showcase Dream Home

Transitional styling reinvents this Lowry Hill statuesque Victorian into a modern-day showcase home with many kitchen amenities. Low VOC water-borne finishes were used on the cabinetry to contribute towards the home's MN Greenstar LEED certification. A stately vanity with a double-radius front graces the master bathroom.
